Memory Cafe at Peapack Reformed Church
Third Thursdays of the month from 11:00am–12:30pm at Peapack Reformed Church
Memory Cafe is a monthly gathering offered through the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey and the Peapack & Gladstone Library. Peapack Reformed Church is glad to provide the meeting space for this community program, but Memory Cafe is not a church program, worship service, or ministry run by Peapack Reformed Church. Questions about registration, program details, eligibility, and monthly activities should be directed to the library.
Memory Cafe is designed for adults with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and their caregivers. It offers a welcoming place to socialize, take part in activities, and connect with others who may be walking through similar experiences. The gathering is meant to be warm, calm, and accessible, with room for both conversation and simple shared activity.
For many families and caregivers, memory loss can become isolating. A program like Memory Cafe gives participants a reason to come out, meet others, and spend time in a setting where they do not need to over-explain themselves. Caregivers are welcome to attend alongside their loved ones, and the time is structured with both connection and comfort in mind.
Memory Cafe is usually informal and social. Participants may spend time talking with one another, enjoying refreshments, joining in an activity, or simply being present in a relaxed community setting. The goal is not medical treatment or clinical care, but companionship, engagement, and support through shared time together.
Registration is required through the Somerset County Library System for planning purposes. Snacks are provided by the program. Because this event is organized by the library, the most current information about dates, registration, and any changes to the schedule will be available through the SCLSNJ event listing.
