Beloved Jesus, Living God,
you enter our hearts,
even when we are filled with disbelief.

as we struggle to make sense of our world.

and we are amazed.
You ease our doubt,
and we are astonished.
We give you thanks, saying,

Call to Confession
The Spirit of God helps us in our weakness, interceding with sighs too deep for words. Romans 8:26
Trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sin.
Prayer of Confession
O Christ,
you rose from the depths of suffering,
from death itself,
to breathe peace upon your disciples.
Still, O Lord, we cannot trust your promise of peace.
Still, O Lord, we do not follow in the way of your love.
Forgive us when we fail to be people of resurrection.
Forgive us when we fail to recognize your grace.
Show us your hands and your feet once more,
and teach us to be your body in the world.

THE RESPONSE TO GOD
*Affirmation of Faith
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
