  GATHERING

Welcome

Prelude        Rejoice My Heart, Be Glad |  König/Rotermund

Call to Worship

Votum

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and let us be glad in it.”

                            Amen

Opening Sentences

Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth;
sing the glory of God’s name; give God glorious praise.
Say to God:
How awesome are your deeds!
Because of your great power,  your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth worships you; they sing praises to you, sing praises to your name.
Come and see what God has done:  he is awesome in his deeds among mortals.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;  all those who      practice it have understanding.  God’s praise endures forever.

Salutation Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ Amen.

*Hymn of Praise   Live Into Hope

Call to Confession

God promises mercy for all those who repent.  Trusting in the grace of Jesus Christ, let us confess our sin.

 Prayer of  Confession

Compassionate Christ, you send us to cure the sick, but we blame the sick for their choices. You ask us to restore the unclean, but we separate them  into high risk pools. You compel us to raise the dead, but we insist some are beyond help
In your patient and persistent mercy, forgive us, O Lord. Teach us to heal without condition and help without limitation. Enable us to love one another as you love us, that as recipients of unmerited grace, we may freely  shower care upon all people.

 Assurance of Pardon

In the name of the One who restores the lost, raises the dead, and reigns on high, I proclaim to you that your sins are forgiven. Believe the good news of the gospel:
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, healed, and made whole.

    The Law of God

*Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*Commitment to Peace Keeping and Peace Seeking

One: May the peace of Christ be with you!

All: And also with you!

Share a sign of peace with one another. After sharing the peace, let us all sing together:

Together, by grace, we witness and work, remembering Jesus, in whom we grow strong. Together we serve in Spirit and truth, remembering love is the strength of our song.

Silent Reflection

THE RESPONSE TO GOD

*Affirmation of Faith (Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I  believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was  buried; He descended to hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended to  heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From there He will come to judge the  living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life  everlasting.  Amen.

Offering                  It Is  Well  With My Soul  |     Bliss/Lanier

*Doxology                   Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise him all creatures here below;

Praise him above ye heavenly hosts; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen!

Prayer of Dedication

Prayer of  Thanksgiving and Intercession (ending with the Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy     Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we       forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the  Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever.   Amen.

                                                                                  SENDING

*Hymn I’m So Glad Jesus Lifted Me

Benediction

Congregational Response Christ is risen! Earth and heaven Nevermore shall be the same.

Break the bread of new creation  Where the world is still in pain

Tell its grim, demonic chorus: “Christ is risen! Get you gone!”

God the First and Last is with us. Sing Hosanna, everyone!
