Rev. Jeremy Campbell, Temporary Pastor | Larry J. Carey, Director of Music

Thought for Worship:“If I have the choice to pray and trust God- or the choice not to pray or trust Him-I'm going to pray and trust. Faith is a choice. And my journey has proved that faith in God is always the right choice.” |Harris Faulkner

Prelude Worship  You Almighty God  | Hayes

Call to Worship

Votum

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Amen

Opening Sentences

O come let us worship and bow down!

We come to worship, but if we are honest, is it hard for us to bow down. Our hearts are full of pride and our hands are stained with sin.

O come let us sing to the Lord; Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

We come to worship, but is it hard for us to sing with joy when we know in our hearts that we have turned away from those most in need of our help. but love your neighbor as yourself.

O come let us worship! Our God welcomes us with forgiveness and hope.

Yes! Yes, this is our God, and we are God’s people. Indeed we come to worship, to bow down in humility, and to sing with joy.

Salutation

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ

Amen.

*Hymn of Praise: Fairest Lord Jesus

Call to Confession

God watches over the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

We have righteousness within us,

but we also have wickedness.

Therefore, let us confess.

Prayer of Confession

Loving God, you call to us with forgiveness and hope.

Lift us out of the quicksand of our self- centeredness.

Help us to truly find ourselves in your embrace.

We have seen the vision of truth and grace in your son Jesus.

Fill us, move us, and enliven us to live out that vision

in our lives as we follow him.

We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Silent Confession

Assurance of Pardon

When we cry to God in our trouble,

God delivers us from our distress.

Thank God for such steadfast love,

wonderful works, and unfailing forgiveness.

 The Law of God:

*Gloria Patri | #579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*Commitment to Peace Keeping and Peace Seeking

One: May the peace of Christ be with you!

All: And also with you!

Share a sign of peace with one another. After sharing the peace, let us all sing together:

Together, by grace, we witness and work, remembering Jesus, in whom we grow strong. Together we serve in Spirit and truth, remembering love is the strength of our song.

THE RESPONSE TO GOD

*Affirmation of Faith

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.  I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;  He descended to hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray as you taught us…

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen.
