First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for everyone… so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. - 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Speaking to God and listening for God’s voice in response is at the heart of the Christian life. In addition to the prayers lifted up during a worship service, Peapack Reformed offers other opportunities for congregational prayer:
A gathering for Intercessory Prayer, led by Lisa Saunders, on the first Sunday of every month following regular worship;
Centering Prayer, led by Barbara Knox, a time of close quiet focus, mindful of God’s presence, Monday mornings at 11 a.m.
Bodily Prayer, yoga instruction led by Daina Gulbis Damratoski. Finding peace and balance through movement and silences.
The Prayer Luncheon, led by Rev. Henry. We gather at noon on the 3rd Wednesday of every month to share soup and bread and prayer concerns in a time of nourishment for body and soul.
Prayer Shawl ministry. Knitting and crocheting lap robes, hats and shawls as tangible prayer and compassionate comfort for those in need. Our created work supports the VNA of Somerset Hills hospice program and the Wellness Center’s cancer care program, provides crib afghans for presentation at baptisms and keeps a supply of prayer shawls for pastoral care. Most yarn is provided.
