For more than five years, the Reformed Church of Bound Brook has been home to a weekly Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Every Wednesday, a hearty meal is served to anyone who comes - usually forty to sixty people.
Every month or so, four or five volunteers from the Peapack Reformed Church help set up, serve and then clean up at the soup kitchen. Helpers meet on a pre-scheduled Wednesday at 4:30 PM and return by 7:30 PM. In addition to on-site volunteers, food contributions are also needed - especially salads (cole slaw, jellied salad, potato salad, green tossed salad) as well as desserts. If you are contributing food, please deliver that food to our church kitchen no later than 4:00 PM the day we are scheduled to volunteer.
If you can be a part of this important mission project, either by serving at the Soup Kitchen or cooking at home, or if you have any questions, please see Dottie Crossett.
I John 4:19-21 We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
