Alleluia!  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!

As they came near to Emmaus, the village to which they were going, Jesus walked ahead as if he were going on.  But they urged him strongly, saying, "Stay with us, because it is almost evening and the day is now nearly over.  So he went in to stay with them." — Luke 24: 28-29

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we celebrate at Easter, is central to the life and faith of the church.  The Easter season begins with the festivity of that glorious Sunday morning, but my no means does it end with that day.  The fifty days of Easter are a special time to see and hear and feel the presence of the risen Christ alive and loose in the world.  Christ meets us on our roads to Emmaus just as he encountered the apostles, and with us he stays.
